Good Fake called on us to create a set of illustrations, designs, and style frames for a multi-part series for NBA 2K and their media channels. Now live, both in-game and online, these series’ provide a platform for athletes to openly discuss the many social issues that came to a head in 2020. Our job was to focus on “More Than a Vote” and “Respect Your OGs”. The series featured Trae Young, Mo Bamba, Jaylen Brown, Candace Parker, and more.
Respect your OGs
Told with a mix of live action and motion graphics, Respect Your OGs features four current athletes telling the stories of their own activism as well as the stories of the OG athletes who paved the way. Athlete pairings include: Jaylen Brown & Bill Russell, Candace Parker & Lisa Leslie, Mo Bamba & Elgin Baylor, and Kyle Korver & Craig Hodges.

Our work focuses on two unique mini-series and the content highlights voting rights and athlete activism throughout history.
More than a vote
Created in conjunction with More Than A Vote, this mini series was released in the run up to the 2020 general election. Utilizing a mix of cel animation and live action interviews, this mini-series features Maria Taylor and Trae Young as they share their personal experiences with voting and why the right to vote is so important to them. We also designed an accompanying motion graphics piece that tells the rocky history of voting rights in America.
